With a severe hearing loss himself since a near fatal attack of Meningitis at the age of eight, Graham Weir has devoted most of his life to the study of hearing loss and it’s impact on personality, communicative behaviour and family relationships. Under sponsorship from Rotary International, Quota International, The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Trust and Better Hearing Australia, he was the first Australian to complete a master’s degree in counselling of the hearing impaired at the world’s most prestigious centre for deafness studies, Gallaudet University, in Washington D.C. USA.
